Over the past few years our Young Leaders have been instrumental with the growth of our chapter not only with membership recruitment, but with exciting and fun educational opportunities, untraditional networking events, and volunteering with over 6 local grassroots charities that have been selected as our Holiday Event charities.
The SITE Global Young Leaders Conference is our favorite every year! This year was beyond amazing. For many of us it was our 2nd and 3rd years attending, however for a few of us it was our first year. The program truly exceeded all of our expectations. Thank you to IMEX America and the SITE SoCal Board of Directors for granting us the unique opportunity to attend. We were fortunate enough to have the registration hosted for 10 of our Young Leaders here in the Southern California Chapter.

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2017, a fresh look, and a new adventure. I am delighted to be part of this innovative chapter of industry professionals. Our chapter thrived in 2016, and in 2017 we will continue to raise the bar for our events, education, and networking. Our successes are consistently acknowledged not only by other SITE chapters, but by travel and event organizations around the world. And it is easy to see why—it is because of you, our dedicated members.

Dear SITE SoCal members,
We are at that time of the year when we start looking for new members to join the SITE SoCal board for 2017. As the largest chapter in the SITE community, we are proud of our accomplishments to date and feel fortunate to have the strength and support of such enthusiastic and dedicated members.
We have just entered the chapter in the annual SITE awards for Excellence Awards in the areas of Special Events, Membership and Education. Just as a reminder, we won Chapter of the Year in in 2015 and 2005, and the following awards for excellence: Special Event in 2014, 2013, 2011, 2009, 2006, 2004 & 2002, and Membership in 2012.
I am personally committed to finding ways to recognize our board members for the contributions they make, which include developing leadership skills and education. Being on the board does take time, of course; from experience, however, I believe that the benefits of the opportunities that arise from being part of the chapter leadership team outweigh the time commitment.
